What is the size of the Village
hall?
The main hall measurers 15meters by
7meters, which is licensed to hold a maximum of 120
people
Do you have an additional Room to
setup a buffet?
No, we do not although this request
has been made before and we are looking at ways to
add this into our future plans, although will rely
heavily on funding options
How many Tables and chairs do you
have?
We have recently purchased new tables
and we now have 18 Small Folding Tables (3ft by
3ft), 10 Large Folding Tables (6ft by 3ft) and 70
Chairs as well as old wooden folding ones for
outside use
Do you have any crockery?
Yes we have a small amount of
crockery ranging from Mugs, Cups & Saucers, Plates
and a small selection of glasses. We recommend
contacting a catering hire company should you
require more. Glasses can be hired in from many
supermarkets sometimes for free if buying alcohol as
well.
What is included in the hire fee?
As part of the hire period you get
the use of the hall from the period you have booked
as well as use of any chairs, tables and kitchen
crockery. Which we ask you to leave clean and tidy
and to put away on your departure.
I am holding a Charity Event and
would like to hire the hall for Free, Can you do
this?
No, Unfortunately we are unable to
offer free use of the hall. As the hall still has
over heads such as insurance, heating & electric and
as we are a charity and
have very tight budgets ourselves, however if you
give us full details of the charity as well as there
charity number, We will discuss it at our committee
meeting and might be able to offer you a discounted
rate
Can we have a Bouncy Castle in the
hall?
Yes you can but please ensure you
sweep the floor before sitting it in the hall to
remove all dirt which will act like sand paper on
the floor and ensure that is not over 3meters high
to prevent damage to the roof and light fittings
Do you have any Children's Toys or
Furniture for us to use?
No we do not, please bring your own
if required
We would like to use candles on
the tables at our event , Can we?
No, Sorry but due to the new fire
regulations candles are not permitted in the hall.
We would like to access the hall
early to set up Bar equipment etc, is this possible?
Yes this is possible but depends on
prior events and there will be additional charges if
this is not booked as we will be unable to hire the
hall out to other hirers if it has been set up early
We would like to use fireworks are
we able to?
No, Due to the close proximity of the
hall to the neighbours fireworks are not permitted
in the hall or its grounds
Is it possible to hire the Car
Park on its own?
This is possible but can only be done
if the hall is not booked for another function and
as we will be unable to hire the hall you will be
charged as if you were booking the village hall.
Although a discount maybe applied if it is only for
a few vehicles
Can you recommend anyone to do the
bar at our event?
No we are unable to recommend anyone
although there are many public houses in the close
area of the hall you are welcome to use or you can
browse the phone directories, we are planning to add
a list of publicans to this site
Can you recommend an entertainer
or disco?
No we are unable to recommend any
entertainers, but please browse the phone
directories there are plans to add a list of these
to this site
I would like to clear up the hall
the following morning following my party, Is this
possible?
Yes this is possible but there would
be an additional fee of £20 which will give you
until 11am the following day subject to other
bookings, it is advisable to book this period in
advance to guarantee it
I am holding an evening party what
is the latest I can have the hall?
Under our Premises License all
parties must finish at 12am (1am if New Years Eve)
and there is a timer to cut off the power after this
time period. We ask all party goers to leave
promptly and quitely at this time and the hirer to
vacate the hall at the latest by 12.30am (1.30am New
Years Day)
What do i do with the waste from
our event?
There is a skip outdoors for the
rubbish from your event, Currently we do not have
any recycling system in place. However in the
meantime you are welcome to take Glass bottles,
Plastic & paper to the Council recycling centres
I am holding a teenage party for
our daughter/ Son's 18th. We will be leaving them at
the hall and attending later to clear up, Is this
OK?
If we are aware of this at the time
of booking the hall will not be let to you. We have
very strict procedures on hiring out for teenage
parties following problems in the past we will not
hire the hall out to people from outside Barnston
and every party is vetted by the committee prior to
be given the OK. This means bookings between the
ages of 15 to 23 years old.
