Temporary Events Notice (TENS)

If you are planning to sell alcohol at your event in the village hall you will need to have a TENS notice in place to cover this. If you intend to do this you need to inform the booking clerk at the earliest moment so that they can advise you on the procedure and cost. Please be aware that if you are booking the hall three weeks or less before your event you will have missed the council application period so a TENS notice will not be available. How do I apply for a temporary event notice?
If applying for a TENS Notice you will need to complete the application form below after informing the booking clerk then:-

  1. Submit one copy of the application with the fee of £21 to the licensing authority. Uttlesford District Council, Licensing Section, Council Offices, London Road, Saffron Walden, Essex. CB11 4ER. You can email: licensing@uttlesford.gov.uk
    Cheques payable to Uttlesford District Council or telephone 01799 510510 to pay by credit/debit card.
  2. Submit one copy of the application form to Environmental Heath Section, Uttlesford District Council, Council Offices, London Road, Saffron Walden, Essex. CB11 4ER or email: environmentalhealth@uttlesford.gov.uk
  3. Submit one copy of the application form to The Licensing Department (Alcohol), Essex Police, P O Box 12306, Police Station, Newland Street, Witham, Essex. CM8 2AS or email: licensing.applications@essex.pnn.police.uk
